Description:
For this party, the rules changed a little bit. Each band still had an hour to write and record their song minus the lyrics. While the next band embarked on their hour, the first band was free to convene outside the basement and consider lyrics. Following the second band's hour, they then had thirty minutes in which to record the resultant vocals.

Confused? It looks like this:
00:00 - Band 1 Instrumental Hour
01:00 - Band 2 Instrumental Hour
02:00 - Band 1 Vocals
02:30 - Band 3 Instrumental Hour
03:30 - Band 2 Vocals
04:00 - Band 4 Instrumental Hour
05:00 - Band 3 Vocals
05:30 - Band 5 Instrumental Hour
06:30 - Band 4 Vocals
07:00 - Band 5 Vocals
Still confused? Well it worked well enough. Yes, we realize that the last band gets screwed (Only a half hour to plan the vocals), but at that point in the evening, I'd be surprised if they noticed.

My only hesitation with this development is that it encourages a distinct separation between lyrics and music, but given the time constraint, I'll write that off as a non-issue.

At any rate, this go-round had a lot of potential that was shot to hell by my harddrives acting up in the middle of the third band's hour. Needless to say, by the time this got sorted out (2-3 hours of hot defragmenting action) the drinkers among the last few bands were not in the best condition.
