The Mix is month is based on songs that have a lot of screaming in it. Don’t get me wrong, I am not a hardcore music know-it-all by any means, I am sure Zach Norton could come up with WAY tougher jams than I could. I do love the occasional head-bang’n jam. Without actually doing it. Hurts after awhile.

Foo Fighters - The Colour and the Shape

Such a great FOO song. Should have been on the record. Rickle and I have been waiting for this song to come out for so long. Remember Napster?! it had a live version of this song on it, then we lost it. Thank you reissue!

Queens of the Stone Age - Six Shooter

I remember seeing them with, that one band no one cares about anymore ( … trail of the dead ) and they ( Queens ) scared me, they sang that one song, ( feel good hit of the summer ) and its says ” cocaine!!!” in the chorus, and the people around me where insane, probably on cocaine. I was freighted by that in my youth, actually I still am.

System of the Down - Chop Suey!

This band is strange, because in my logical mind there is no “real” reason why this band should be played on the radio. BUT It does say something about “production” because this song, on the surface is a silly song, but this song has some really killer harmonies, and strange “pop production” ( i.e. pianos, strings, vocals harmonies ) what he is singing about, I am not into, but still really great song musically.

At-the Drive In - Sleepwalk Capsules

Who does not like some at-the drive in?! I one thing I will always regret, is driving around one day, knowing that they where in detroit and thinking “eh, I will see them next time, I don’t wanna spend $10 on a show right now”. A month later they broke up. JERKS.

Fantomas - Book 1: page 3 Funny band.

no words, just yelling!

Coalesce - What Happens on the Road Always Comes Home.

Got to see them at michigan fest. It was really great, so many people thrash’n and skip’n. Sean throwing his guitar player in the crowd was pretty great. Man I miss the 90’s

Smashing Pumpkins - Bodies

Everyone knows this jam.!? Never saw this band, also not a ton of screaming in this song. Go and smash some pumpkins for halloween. but please don’t throw them at anyone, thats not nice.

Perfect Circle - Judith

This band has always scared me, I still have not listened to this record, this is the song I know and it so dang good. Another band that used harmonies really effectively, whether it is was on the guitar or vocals and also really ridiculous drumming. BUT inspired slew of terrible, terrible bands, local and otherwise. I’m sorry, just to many people tried to sing like Maynard, and well, you can’t!

Hot Water Music - One Step to Slip

AHHH the 90’s again so good, seeing them at the shelter with it so packed full of beards and flannel shirts. Its not like that anymore, well unless you go to those “new-emo bands” shows. Those show are still missing one thing. BEARDS!

Deftones - Hexagram

Another band that was, really really good, but DID unfortunately inspired some really bad bands. Most of the bands they inspired they ( deftones ) ended up opening for on the last couple of tours. Makes no sense Chino will be better than you, always , such a great screaming voice. listen closely to it on this song insane, and somehow he has been doing it for years now.

Refused - Deadly Rhythm

Last but not least, Refused - shape of punk to come. In my mind the greatest punk/hard-core record ever, to me it seemed like they used so much energy and creativity on this record, that if they did NOT break up, they would put out a following record that just would have been “okay” . So they got pissed at each other and left us with there best record, and pretty much killed hardcore/punk. I don’t think anyone will make a record like this one. if you don’t got it, GET IT.

These song may not play in order still have not figured out this site yet. Here we go.

Also, seeing Bruce for Obama on Monday. Awesome. Go vote
